My Wife and I decided to spend the Money to renovate the Kitchen. We wanted to match the colors in the Blacksplash to walls and IKEA Cabinets. we paid a painter to do the painting. after two plus days of work. I said to the painter. the paint is tacky, the next day it started to scratch an chip.I clean the hardware to go the cabinets on. The paint chipped and chipped. I called valspar. they told me it could take 30 days to dry.

Painted bathroom with Valspar paint 2 weeks ago. Taped off to do base boards. When I pulled tape it pulled the paint clean of the walls. Paint has been dry like I said for two weeks and I have put 3 coats on the wall.

ABSOLUTELY WORST INTERIOR PAINTING RESULTS, EVER !

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
.Decided it was time to update the paint inside the house, all rooms. Spent a LOT of time prepping walls , both sanding and primer. The results using Valspar were stunningly bad. Whether rolling or brushing, the finishes were the worst I've ever encountered. Second and third coats, no noticeable improvements. So much time wasted and ruined ...

Horrible paint

I purchased Valpar 2000 interior paint + primer color eggshell. This paint did not cover old paint on the wall. I had to go purchased a different product to get the job done. I gave it another try with doors, that were not to bad, this paint would not cover small marks. Please do not purchase to product.

A complaint on the deck paint

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Stained our deck this summer with the Valspar deck stain and have noticed it is already chipping off. It has only been maybe 2 months. I am very dissatisfied with this deck stain and will not be buying or recommending it to others.

Recommendation RE: Paint Samples

Valspar - Recommendation RE: Paint Samples
Valspar - Recommendation RE: Paint Samples - Image 2

I encourage you to increase the quality of your paint samples. The poor quality of the product reflects badly on Valspar products.

Most of us do not need 8oz, you could make them smaller. As an alternative, you could include a statement that acknowledges the samples are not a reflection of the quality of Valspar paints and are a cheap imitation that serves only as a vehicle for sampling color.

I'm a retired painting contractor. My wife asked me to paint the kitchen cabinets, but was unsure about color. We were delighted to find we could buy a sample tinted to our choice.

We bought samples of two colors. I removed a cabinet door sanded and primed it with Zinsser Bulls-Eye 1-2-3 (2 coats, sanded between). I applied two coats of the first color, but she did not like it with the new counter top. No problem, I lightly sanded it with 100 grit, then wiped the sanding dust off with a wet painter's rag.

The topcoat peeled! It did not bond with the primer, though the primer bonded beautifully with the door. I took the door into the dealer to express my dismay and see if this was normal. He acknowledged that the sample paint is inferior and that they have complained to the company.

Years of applying paint, and I've never seen anything so poor. Even the cheapest contractor paints have never peeled off with a wet rag.

I'm not asking for a refund, simply recommending you make a change that that will reflect to the public that your products are worthy worthy.

User's recommendation: Know that Valspar sample paint is inferior to the product you will buy for your project.

Valspar - Very upset/ angry

I give a big 0!! Their cat *** paint smell has ruined 2 pieces of old loved furniture I refinished!

I didn't know it was the paint on the cabinet I painted until I painted my mom's (deceased) kitchen table after days and days of stripping sanding, sealer. Things that cause me a lot of pain. Nothing compared to realizing after all that, that it's the same cat *** smell of the cabinet I restored the year prior, never knowing it was the paint giving it that smell. Worse after humid days.

I decided I will have to try &; sell the cabinet, heartbreaking cuz I've had it since the 80's and FIL had it since the 60's-70's?! My mom's table smell literally made me cry! I have done so much work already on it. I don't know how to start all over again!

I'm crushed and heartbroken.

I wish I would have read about the paint sooner! How do you even compensate for the time and lost furniture keepsakes!

This paint is just as bad a Behr, if not worse. Used 25 gallons today on an exterior project, which is what the paint was specifically for. Coverage was horrible, the lifting was even worse. No such thing as rolling this out, you can go over one spot twice with tour roller, after that it lifts the paint. Kick the can over and walk away I experimented with how thick I layer the paint down and it didnt matter. Put it on thin, it lifted. Put it on thick, it lifted. Please note, tons of proper prep work was put into this project. I am not new to this. I have over 30 experience painting.

I have used Val spar for years, the last gallon I bought was full of lumps. I brought it back to Lowes, the Manager told me all Val spar paint has lumps in it, and they broke up as you use it. She has no idea what she is talking about, I have never had this problem. It always used to cover in one coat, not anymore, the paint is too high-priced for the quality that it is now.

Cedar stain turns yellow

While using cedar stain, it changes color for no reason from a nice reddish cedar color to a shade of yellow. It says on the can to stir well before using, but that seems to make it turn yellow faster

Awful paint. Walls are ruined.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
FI wish Id read all the reviews before investing time abd money in valspar paint. In b&;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;amp;q you are told it is far better than dulux. What rubbish. I have never fhad such issues with paint. Yes, the colour matching and variety of colours is great but that is where it starts and stops. I bought 2.5L of a deep orange paint for my hallway. It shouldve been plenty with loads to spare. Not so. The paint went on , thin and streaky, like Ive never experienced before. 3 coats were applied and still the streaks showed through. On the 4th coat, the paint blistered and bubbled all over , for no apparent reason. On trying to smooth out the blisters, by roller or brush , the paint lifted off exposing white walls where the bubbles were. Ive tried the Matt and then went and bought the more expensive trade version hoping it would behave differently. Another complete waste of money. Same bubbling and peeling. So I now have orange walls covered in masses of white spots and bubbles. Its a total mess. My decorator had spent days carefully painting , repainting and cutting in the orange against contrast white walls . If this had been dulux itd been two coats and done. He used professional cutting in tape on some areas and when he peeled it back the paint lifted right back to the pre Valspar layer so far that that all also now needs filling and sanding. My walls are ruined. They need to be completely sanded back. I have been so for over a month now tooing and froing with valspar seeking a solution. I cant get an answer as to why this has happened so I dont know whether to attempt to paint over their weird paint again. It has cost me a fortune already in decorators costs and my walls are still a complete mess and Im left not knowing what to do next. The customer service is shocking. You wait weeks for a reply and the reply, once Received, is pure lip service and envelope pushing. The last email, again didnt respond or try and come up with a suggestion/solution/reason but merely asked for my home address so that they could send me vouchers. For what exactly I do not know. More valspar paint. I think not!! Who on Earth in the 21st century sends paper vouchers anymore anyway ! Im still stuck with an expensive decorating bill and likely more costs to pay to remedy the walls and walls that still look absolutely horrendous. DO NOT BUY VALSPAR !
